The 9th All India Amateur Astronomers Meet
4th & 5th June 1999 at Hyderabad, India.
Andhra pradesh Akademi of Science is organising the "9th All India Amateur
Astronomers' Meet" under the main theme "Total Solar
Eclipse-1999" - (TSE-1999) on 4th and 5th June, 1999 at
Hyderabad. Eight such Meets have already been regularly conducted
annually with the initiative from the Confederation
of India Amateur Astronomers (CIAA). Their sequence is as follows:
Pune (1991); Wardha (1992); Ahmedabad (1993); Calcutta (1994);
Bhubaneswar (1995); Chennai (1996); New Delhi (1997) and Shillong
(1998). The major focus of these Meets has been to coordinate all
amateur astronomy activities by different groups and Institutions
in different parts of India and to popularise Astronomy.
It is the first time that such a meeting is going to be held at Hyderabad and the purpose of this meet is to provide a platform for the Amateur and Professional Astronomers all over the country to gather and share their experience and to plan for coordinated programmes.
On this occasion, it is also proposed to bring out a "Souvenir" and interested participants are requested to send their articles in advance.
All those interested to participate in this Two-day meet are requested to send the enclosed Registration Form (duly filled in) along with Demand Draft of INR.300/- as Registration Fee to be drawn in favour of "Hon. Secretary, A.P.Akadami of Sciences, Hyderabad" on or before 30th April, 1999, so as to reach to
